("This Is Not Financial Advice" Movie Review)<p> I came into investing by accident. </p><p>As a retail worker, I would randomly come across a customer asking me if our store was going out of business (funny enough, this would happen more than once, at at more than one business). Not knowing if these questions were true or not I would head over to finance channels on television, like Bloomberg or CNBC, and get the financials of the stores I was working at. And usually our stores would be fine. A store I worked at long ago, Mervyn's, did end up going out of business, but the Great Financial Crisis of 2008 was the one event that eventually took a bankrupt and limping business to the edge.</p><p>Later on in life as major news networks like CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC featured warring, partisan bickering and profited from it with the ratings, I returned to business news. They covered the important events going on in the world but through the lens of finance. I could see how these events affected my personal and work life and the best part was not hearing the arguing of talking heads.</p><p>So in 2020 as the U.S. and a good chunk of the world went into lockdown as Covid broke out, I was surprisingly stoic. I had money saved up and having the right opportunity to invest, I invested. I had never been in that situation before and it felt like the stars were aligning. But as I was following the tried and true investing lessons from the likes of Warren Buffett, Peter Lynch, and John C. Bogle, there was something else going on. A separate group of 'investors' who were YOLOing their stimulus checks into crypto currency, NFTs, meme stocks, and other insane investments. Thankfully I was old enough to stay the course and had read enough books about financial euphoria to know a bubble when I saw one. Yes, Bitcoin is still around, but I stand by my convictions. </p><p>Today on digital was the release of the documentary "This Is Not Financial Advice," an entertaining snapshot of that frenzy of zero interest rates and buckets of money printed out to the public. And the youngsters flexing their digital assets. </p><p>The focus is on four individuals...a young man who invests the traditional way but has the patience to do so, a young TikTok influencer who wants to teach the right way to her following, a divorcee who sells his house and throws it all into crypto, and the main focus being The Dogecoin Millionaire, a young man with nothing to lose but who lets the hype overtake common sense. </p><p>Seeing the rise of their investments was humorous. To be honest, the entire meme culture of this era was humorous. Even though I would go the traditional route, I had a good time revisiting this insanity. Seeing the massive drop in their investments was groan inducing. It wasn't even my money but I felt the gut punch of $2 Million plus being reduced to half a million, just because the HODL (Hold On for Dear Life) crowd don't allow 'paper handed' sellers. That's the true tragedy of all this frothiness. A lot of these kids could've made good gains if it weren't for that gambling side of wanting to see that big number rise even more. It's frustrating, but since the 17th century and the first bout of financial euphoria (being the Tulip Bubble Mania) to the Dot Com Bubble to Beanie Babies...it's human nature. The times and technology may change, but the hearts of men and women mainly stay the same. Even with the lessons learned over the years.</p><p><span style="font-size: x-small;">By Jess Solis</span></p><p><span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></p><p>BUY OR RENT "THIS IS NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE" HERE:</p><p><a href="https://amzn.to/3S0pMUG">This Is Not Financial Advice</a><br /></p><p><span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjivmwaIGB8CGcdXfI8rUKLFXbnPxn_jofS75jD4oLZuKdRBZUnvsnKgVTZ9M-U5Tzq-t2iC-MK_cegeJGPN9YIqcC6KjlU_b9hp03r0yRAQd9VPLaQrTDjC-qkA8DvdTUKVCOQJerLfO-8xIm3tGwOvwUHU70IqFnMe0Bfipt54-CT3wG9kP8iEnp8NRU/s600/FotoJet.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="371" data-original-width="600" height="198" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjivmwaIGB8CGcdXfI8rUKLFXbnPxn_jofS75jD4oLZuKdRBZUnvsnKgVTZ9M-U5Tzq-t2iC-MK_cegeJGPN9YIqcC6KjlU_b9hp03r0yRAQd9VPLaQrTDjC-qkA8DvdTUKVCOQJerLfO-8xIm3tGwOvwUHU70IqFnMe0Bfipt54-CT3wG9kP8iEnp8NRU/s320/FotoJet.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiq6ZlavQycrlUxj9ll5HKVFKw-6l7Oz6OTu4QrE9WVM6PdyDr8EE9NImqr-W5lSLq01b3cls_d4f-LLAFxaBtR69t_kKlx6XaUc6fZGBPsFsKbZ6d9v6iVIeq89PkYcpm2q3xBvEYsuhpUblJh3ZQejHMEPlXOYRH-AMXAkOpRGGFXghwokwEaPJh1-9A/s450/8nVMfo0teRLskGlHG7klkUAlXAP.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="300" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiq6ZlavQycrlUxj9ll5HKVFKw-6l7Oz6OTu4QrE9WVM6PdyDr8EE9NImqr-W5lSLq01b3cls_d4f-LLAFxaBtR69t_kKlx6XaUc6fZGBPsFsKbZ6d9v6iVIeq89PkYcpm2q3xBvEYsuhpUblJh3ZQejHMEPlXOYRH-AMXAkOpRGGFXghwokwEaPJh1-9A/s320/8nVMfo0teRLskGlHG7klkUAlXAP.jpg" width="213" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Er6G5Slw-Kg" width="320" youtube-src-id="Er6G5Slw-Kg"></iframe></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span><p></p>GhoulishGrinFilms.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11775357473038739782noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1303936516414063319.post-26369570537297420062024-01-04T18:04:00.000-08:002024-01-09T15:12:51.256-08:00Another Plea To The Academy...Godzilla Minus One<p> I'm a huge fan of horror, as some may have picked up on. Classic horror has always been my jam. From the great Universal Monsters era of the 1930's and '40's to the Hammer Studios horror of the late '50's. And, of course the movie monster giants like King Kong and Godzilla. The films never really frightened me but I was riveted by the characters and spooky ambience. And even though modern moviemakers don't seem to know what to do with these legendary characters, they still seem to have some juice in them. Which is impressive in this social media led, short attention span generation that consumes content these days.</p><p>But with current releases like "The Last Voyage of the Demeter," which I thought was fantastic but didn't light the box office on fire, I was wondering if these classic properties had the same kind of relevance that they had back in the day. They've been trying for years now to resurrect the Universal Monsters Universe to no avail. I've rooted for every film that tried bringing back my favorite characters, but it was either just not good, not in sync with the other films, or untimely. I was beginning to lose all hope.</p><p>And here in the States they brought back King Kong and Godzilla in a super smash up and all we fans got was a very convoluted mess of special effects and storyline that focused on human characters that we didn't care about. It was successful enough to green light a sequel, but we already know what to expect with these films.</p><p>So when I saw the glowing reviews for this smaller release, "Godzilla Minus One," on social media, I was curious but mildly enthused. It was the thirty seventh Godzilla film after all. How good can this one possibly be, so far into the franchise? Well...though I wasn't super hyped for it, it was still a Godzilla movie. That I was going to see on the big screen. And what better time can you have than to go to the movies to see a classic monster movie?</p><p>Well. The film was magnificent. A triumph. Not just better than I expected, but a film worthy of the greatness of this character. A story that brought back the deeper meaning of the character. A story of trauma. Of conquering your fears to fight the great fight. Of family, even the ones that weren't blood. Of rethinking a country's legacy. Of victory. A great, great film.</p><p>And as we close 2023 and head into 2024 I am once again making a plea to The Motion Picture Academy. If there's a film that truly touches AND thrills audiences, with a recognizable film property? Well...isn't that a win win situation? We went through that last year with "Top Gun: Maverick." A film so good it was undeniable, while having the name recognition that people could root for. Here it is again.</p><p>We probably WILL see that popular film recognition with "Barbie" and "Oppenheimer." But if we can make room for ONE MORE...a scaly fire-breathing lizard who destroys Tokyo? That would be lovely indeed.</p><p><br /></p><p><span style="font-size: x-small;">By Jess Solis</span></p><p> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkfEkXbsMLrmkc9kkPQ8dJrZUyGVOc0PeySA2oyPa3ILs0yIWkNwVXwsd9SPOvy-sCJcMQfhuuAR314S9CW5vEhRcXh39XEUJY-JLSORgNkAfrIP364eRySMzD6fOCULp3Xig6EI5OYKu7V60oN4IIoCSRJRvzZZm5mz5VQwVl9rUdC7M1aXKI14JRVck/s1600/Godzilla-minus-zero-collectible-figure.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="1600" height="192" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkfEkXbsMLrmkc9kkPQ8dJrZUyGVOc0PeySA2oyPa3ILs0yIWkNwVXwsd9SPOvy-sCJcMQfhuuAR314S9CW5vEhRcXh39XEUJY-JLSORgNkAfrIP364eRySMzD6fOCULp3Xig6EI5OYKu7V60oN4IIoCSRJRvzZZm5mz5VQwVl9rUdC7M1aXKI14JRVck/s320/Godzilla-minus-zero-collectible-figure.jpg" width="320" /></a></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/r7DqccP1Q_4" width="320" youtube-src-id="r7DqccP1Q_4"></iframe></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></p>GhoulishGrinFilms.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11775357473038739782noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1303936516414063319.post-10528820346196889002024-01-04T14:45:00.000-08:002024-01-09T15:11:42.787-08:00Steamboat Willie Is Ours (Happy New Year 2024!)<p> 2024 is a fantastic year for new possibilities. </p><p>The pandemic is lingering, but it's more of a potent cold these days. The masses have come out to shop, drop, and pop as we all return to normality. Even with a stubborn bout of inflation and high interest rates, the consumer still came out to consume. So if they came out during these restrictive conditions, what's stopping them from an all out boom of activity this year when rates will get cut and people can afford goods and services? The Roaring '20's I thought would arrive earlier but got the Spanish Flu pandemic instead may just actually happen...</p><p>And with a new year comes new public domain works ready to be reused and reimagined by artists. The most notable being Walt Disney's legendary "Steamboat Willie" featuring the first appearance of the iconic Mickey Mouse.</p><p>We've already seen a drop of a trailer for a horror game called "Infestation." It really doesn't take long with these talented folk. And the memes are coming a plenty. </p><p>So as we face new challenges, new conflicts, new obstacles...let's take what upward momentum we have and run with it. There's potential for great stuff to happen in these upcoming days, weeks, months...years?</p><p>Happy 2024. Let's make it ROAR.</p><p><br /></p><p><span style="font-size: x-small;">By Jess Solis</span></p><p><a href="https://web.law.duke.edu/cspd/publicdomainday/2024/">https://web.law.duke.edu/cspd/publicdomainday/2024/</a></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHySPW_PSlFxjIWZtmZKCMVrsbJU6ouVVR2VfnQbNyx_-PMdzEt4BCYWJWXlaUNr40voYeEmSW1_aIR4m6HLzuxNJRZkiuNdJovVm-gcZkjH7qadk1AUSuvtkJIdbns3lyNmi9yF8_yqGmxly3c3hM6T-kT5Y54V4ts9DGIufeRE144Tfa6ujIfud3CYI/s800/imageedit_2_4374063684.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="493" data-original-width="800" height="197" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHySPW_PSlFxjIWZtmZKCMVrsbJU6ouVVR2VfnQbNyx_-PMdzEt4BCYWJWXlaUNr40voYeEmSW1_aIR4m6HLzuxNJRZkiuNdJovVm-gcZkjH7qadk1AUSuvtkJIdbns3lyNmi9yF8_yqGmxly3c3hM6T-kT5Y54V4ts9DGIufeRE144Tfa6ujIfud3CYI/s320/imageedit_2_4374063684.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/hmzO--ox7X0" width="320" youtube-src-id="hmzO--ox7X0"></iframe></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/gL-s586BP40" width="320" youtube-src-id="gL-s586BP40"></iframe></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/_WDh-q5Xd_Q" width="320" youtube-src-id="_WDh-q5Xd_Q"></iframe></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p><br /></p><p></p>GhoulishGrinFilms.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11775357473038739782noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1303936516414063319.post-47320909258913057032023-10-31T21:41:00.004-07:002023-10-31T21:49:52.915-07:00Sometimes There's Just Not Enough Time (Halloween's Come And Gone) #halloween<p> Usually (and I know I'm not speaking only for myself) when we get towards the end of summer and we see the start of September, I will hype myself up for Halloween. Super early, I know. But a creepy tune here and there. An old, nostalgic commercial from time to time. And a healthy dose of horror films.</p><p>And as I write this blog celebrating Halloween (and mourn its ending), I can't help but believe even with that extended amount of hype and festive feelings, the time known as 'spooky season' STILL goes by too quickly. </p><p>Sure, we get a bit of an extension with Dia de los Muertos, but once that passes, it's full steam ahead with the Christmas festivities. </p><p>And that's good. But spooky season is just...SO MUCH fun!</p><p>Another year, another Halloween gone. But I had a blast. Going into Spirit Halloween, seeing Halloween decorations and merchandise in many department stores. Enjoying the festive shorts from many talented creators. And yes...my go to HALLOWEEN TREATS! Playlist that I curated for this channel.</p><p>So here's a taste of the 2023 Halloween season. Enjoy and thanks for celebrating with me here at the channel. And I hope that you had a great time in your neck of the woods. Until next spooky season!</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgco5zxVyDV2bX2A8t_Iale_Fc35ikZ_xjm3w6BJOZLMWF_BT2rzMvqx3YZGIHmHcrc0gQWfO-rJKfIAIxystQPrvHGiDjlwi5aA_e1UgYfuwNJX2F30UaQflVn9Qh9rzF5sD92OEGLlIRCDDmRN-N_9qfAA9eLKjjBepIwCAf2na-nAB2NnugtyNLKUow/s1024/FotoJet.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="632" data-original-width="1024" height="198" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgco5zxVyDV2bX2A8t_Iale_Fc35ikZ_xjm3w6BJOZLMWF_BT2rzMvqx3YZGIHmHcrc0gQWfO-rJKfIAIxystQPrvHGiDjlwi5aA_e1UgYfuwNJX2F30UaQflVn9Qh9rzF5sD92OEGLlIRCDDmRN-N_9qfAA9eLKjjBepIwCAf2na-nAB2NnugtyNLKUow/s320/FotoJet.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Q6IKXmoxvJs" width="320" youtube-src-id="Q6IKXmoxvJs"></iframe></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p><br /></p>GhoulishGrinFilms.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11775357473038739782noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1303936516414063319.post-69667188884220569542023-09-07T12:40:00.004-07:002023-09-08T06:57:39.886-07:00"The Last Voyage Of The Demeter" Gives Dracula His Fangs Back (Movie Review)<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidSyCxaCEWNpec5N4Q5R4SoSnhnq0Eb32V-oc4qGTAm7mj-ahF1cQZi6m8oyLUepXalfBnCX6a7KzdZtIKfR09JO7ZRRTMEwp7uW1Md7oqIw7i9vGmgoHUoPVgoJ0fjO3zqLqUwjzI-9UCwFNa45LlU9YKy80Z3e5CHsIbGw_QTdtn94-6F6ksfQ3wkpE/s1200/the-last-voyage-of-the-demeter-dracula.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="630" data-original-width="1200" height="168" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidSyCxaCEWNpec5N4Q5R4SoSnhnq0Eb32V-oc4qGTAm7mj-ahF1cQZi6m8oyLUepXalfBnCX6a7KzdZtIKfR09JO7ZRRTMEwp7uW1Md7oqIw7i9vGmgoHUoPVgoJ0fjO3zqLqUwjzI-9UCwFNa45LlU9YKy80Z3e5CHsIbGw_QTdtn94-6F6ksfQ3wkpE/s320/the-last-voyage-of-the-demeter-dracula.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">As a fan of the classic Universal Monsters horror films of the '30's and '40's, I was absolutely THRILLED to go into the theaters to see a Dracula film based on the source material from Bram Stoker and distributed by Universal Studios. Not only was I pleased with the outcome, I was overjoyed to see the immortal character of Dracula repackaged as a truly frightening and evil entity. An old character that's been through countless interpretations given a ghastly new look and presence that rivals any new movie monster yet still is faithful to the source material. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://amzn.to/3Lj810r">The Last Voyage Of The Demeter</a><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Based on the 'Captains Log' chapter of the Bram Stoker novel, the film mainly takes place at sea, with the captain and crew of The Demeter trapped onboard with the infamous vampire himself. The film is a slow burn but not a boring slow burn that has no payoff. It truly creates tension and makes the great Dracula truly frightening. I've been a fan of this character all my life and I can't tell you how much joy this film gave me. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The entire cast is fantastic but much praise must be given to Javier Botet, who portrayed Dracula. An absolutely brilliant performance, giving Dracula physical menace and giving moviegoers chills.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The film ultimately ended its run with mixed critical acclaim and wasn't a box office hit. I'm not sure it will get a follow-up and that has unfortunately been the story with Universal Studios Monsters (A.K.A. The MonsterVerse). These characters and films started the cinematic connectivity but it just hasn't had the push by filmgoers to do so in the modern age. Which is fine by me. As a standalone film it does a great job of bringing classic elements and modern day frights to an old character and story. So thanks to Universal Studios for a truly chilling new adaptation of a classic story. I believe in future years this film will be seen in a positive light. ("Gran Turismo" Movie Review)<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjo5pgKHSA-Qr8C2D4o-2U6jFPHty43jaN5qc55RjbCiBW9-Qaiax0y5W81dkdh5RohomwJZeyy_4xmZLcqn6BW7ZTemKGe2ylxdDjGZc0hZrAhWF70pBUQXPIlT_bqHMA15GQ_H_htJZ-PHKXl6BHizKmscmPFK5jqzYSway2kOzSrAXJ5lB-pFGpDKiQ/s530/voirhd-gran-turismo--u1058716-1.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="298" data-original-width="530" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjo5pgKHSA-Qr8C2D4o-2U6jFPHty43jaN5qc55RjbCiBW9-Qaiax0y5W81dkdh5RohomwJZeyy_4xmZLcqn6BW7ZTemKGe2ylxdDjGZc0hZrAhWF70pBUQXPIlT_bqHMA15GQ_H_htJZ-PHKXl6BHizKmscmPFK5jqzYSway2kOzSrAXJ5lB-pFGpDKiQ/s320/voirhd-gran-turismo--u1058716-1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /> <p></p><p>1995's "Mortal Kombat" was widely considered for many years to be the best video game ever made. Which wasn't saying much since just about every video game made during that time and previously ranged from bleh to hot garbage. Not to downplay the nostalgia that some of these bad films give to people, but it was a genre of film that was never given respect. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://amzn.to/44NASRs">Preorder Gran Turismo</a><br /></p><p>Later on film adaptations of "Tomb Raider," "Resident Evil," and "Silent Hill" tried to remove this stigma, to little effect. They were better films, but nothing truly remarkable. These films were fun popcorn films, for sure...but forgettable. Well...I do remember that Angelina Jolie towel scene. But is that saying much?</p><p>In 2016 Michael Fassbender produced and starred in a film adaptation of "Assassin's Creed," giving much hope that the streak of junk video game films was about to end. It only added to the pile, to the disappointment of fans. Fans of the game and fans of cinema. What hope was there?</p><p>On streaming, we were given a welcome turn of events with "The Last Of Us," starring Pedro Pascal, giving an unexpected wave of fantastic video game television. But was it going to happen on the big screen?</p><p>I believe we have found the film that will perhaps be regarded as the best of the video game film pile, and that is 2023's "Gran Turismo." </p><p>It is remarkably based on the true story of Jann Mardenborough, a sim racer who was given the opportunity to race in real life races and was successful. It takes from not just this wonderfully touching story but also from the video game source material, Sony's simulation video game.</p><p>It's not only well acted (thanks to stars like David Harbour, Orlando Bloom, Djimon Hounsou, and the brilliant star turn of Archie Madekwe), well directed (Neill Blomkamp), but it gives the viewer hope that just about anything is possible.</p><p>I highly recommend this uplifting film about dreams and determination. And those dreams coming true.</p><p><br /></p><p><span style="font-size: x-small;">By Jess Solis</span></p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/fp0CsRlZLXk" width="320" youtube-src-id="fp0CsRlZLXk"></iframe></div><br /><p><br /></p>GhoulishGrinFilms.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11775357473038739782noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1303936516414063319.post-81644789586350906142023-06-08T14:09:00.004-07:002023-06-08T21:20:59.909-07:00"The Monster: Ghoulish Edition" Now Streaming On Amazon Prime Video!<p> <a href="https://amzn.to/3P0Rv7U">The Monster: Ghoulish Edition</a></p><p>"The Monster: Ghoulish Edition" starring Lon Chaney, is now streaming on Amazon Instant Video! With Korean bands entering the scene, it seems to continue with much strength. Musical trends, so I've been told, go in cycles. This cycle, however, seems to have been unusually long. But I'm too old now to get upset over such things. I've grown to not care so much about what other musical genres take over the mainstream. It was a fools game to even care at all. People are going to like what they like. They aren't wrong about what they like either. Music is subjective. And who am I to deprive anyone of something that gives them joy?</p><p>Having said that, every now and then during this time of pop dominance a rock or metal album comes out and gets the mainstream spotlight again. And this time it comes from The Might Metallica. </p><p>On November 28th of 2022, I woke up to an unexpected music video drop. For a brand new Metallica song called "Lux Aeterna." With no warning or announcement. And since their last official release was 2016's HARDWIRED...TO SELF DESTRUCT, this instantly gave me a jolt of overjoyed adrenaline. And soon we knew we were getting new music. </p><p>Then followed "Screaming Suicide," which to be honest didn't hit me as hard but still...it's new Metallica. Then "If Darkness Had a Son." That one had such a great swagger and groove to it. I was officially excited for this new album, which would be called 72 SEASONS, representing the first 18 years of ones life and the rest of ones life trying to meditate on the lessons of those 18 years.</p><p>The final music video single release would be the title track. It was the thrashy Metallica that I was accustomed to. Yet all songs, having influences ranging from Motorhead to The New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, had a modern sound to them. Few bands can bring a classic metal sound they ushered in, with their own musical influences, and give it a polished modern sensibility. But they are Metallica...after all.</p><p>The day before the album drop, I attended a listening party with a movie theater filled with Metallica loyalists. It's always great to have that kind of positive energy with like minded folk. The band introduced themselves and would give brief intros to the songs. I would once again hear these four releases, complete with the music video visuals. And then would hear the brand new songs. Which of course is hard to absorb on the spot, but we the fans were enthusiastic nonetheless. I really reacted positively to "You Must Burn!," a Sabbathesqe heavy plotter, and "Crown Of Barbed Wire," which had a great modern ambience to its sound. I was indeed enjoying myself through all of the playlist, but towards the end they released the 11 minute epic "Inamorata." Every now and then I will dub a new song from a band an 'instant classic.' This was one of those times. It had that modern riffage at the start, with Lars Ulrich's famous 'in the pocket' drum playing. A great groove. Then it quieted down to a halt, with Lars' cymbals imitating the great Ian Paice complimented by Rob Trujillo's Geezer Butler style bass. James Hetfield's sorrowful vocals made it such a beautiful moment, and then they hit the groove again. What made me absolutely giddy was James tagging with Kirk Hammett to play Thin Lizzy style duel guitars. I knew in an INSTANT that this song was special. It is my favorite song on the album. It felt like six minutes to me, and I wouldn't have argued if they tacked on another 5 minutes or so.</p><p>I came out of the theater ready for the mornings album drop. I can't tell you how wonderful it is to get a brand new blockbuster metal album in the year 2023. I know that this band is on borrowed time, so it makes it that much more special. </p><p>I was introduced to Metallica way back in 1992, during my high school years. They were my gateway drug into metal music. I have since enjoyed discovering so many different bands and subgenres, but they will always be the first. And when I get new music, I do feel like I kind of time travel back to those days. Which I know is ridiculous but I'm a nostalgic type of guy and I feel so grateful to have them around. I will cherish them for however long they wish to continue. And hopefully that's for another decade or two. That alone would be a great film to have on your filmography to give yourself some horror clout. But in 1996 she starred in what would be an instant classic in the horror genre, Wes Craven's "Scream." It was the perfect balance of heart racing screams and self aware humor. Much like Craven's previous film "New Nightmare," it set the stage for a new era of horror films, which gave The '90's its specific flavor. <p></p><p>The beginning of the new millennium would end the franchise as a trilogy with "Scream 3," and she would move on with her career until the powers that be decided to reactivate the franchise with 2011's "Scream 4." This would be the final "Scream" film with Craven as director and though it seemed like a final act for the classic cast, they weren't done just yet...</p><p>2022's "Scream" brought Campbell back for what seems like one final time, bringing on a new cast to take over. We'll see how that pans out.</p><p>This latest installment only proves what a valuable leading lady Campbell actually is. For many of us, she IS the Scream Franchise. And her standing in horror is set in stone.</p><p>Happy birthday to the one and only Neve Campbell!</p><p><br /></p><p><span style="font-size: x-small;">By Jess Solis</span></p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwKodZYYpG9DcmCrN2uYh-glbNBIaQwavyNQbOxEepg03OxdCsaxBCKgBPoijzujAQfj8vQ7j5V2mUZaMk7O9_TmkfVrjcsm4ve-Oeh1qp1gpKsV3ZI9kIVm-DJjerd2dSIAKlioxU556YoypBIgjebiB328AGBypsv8ERS-RxeUmDbloZgwEwGcO3/s666/sidney.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="411" data-original-width="666" height="197" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwKodZYYpG9DcmCrN2uYh-glbNBIaQwavyNQbOxEepg03OxdCsaxBCKgBPoijzujAQfj8vQ7j5V2mUZaMk7O9_TmkfVrjcsm4ve-Oeh1qp1gpKsV3ZI9kIVm-DJjerd2dSIAKlioxU556YoypBIgjebiB328AGBypsv8ERS-RxeUmDbloZgwEwGcO3/s320/sidney.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/pA-SL5K6IkA" width="320" youtube-src-id="pA-SL5K6IkA"></iframe></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/zyVKJXfRm_g" width="320" youtube-src-id="zyVKJXfRm_g"></iframe></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p><br /></p>GhoulishGrinFilms.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11775357473038739782noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1303936516414063319.post-58762167612294036852022-09-04T13:27:00.002-07:002022-09-04T13:34:39.748-07:00Do Early Halloween Celebrations Begin In September? YOU BET YOUR PUMPKINS! <p> I'm not trying to toot my own horn, but when September 1st hit, I would go pull out a few old Halloween records (converted into Mp3s) and hype myself up for 'spooky season.' October Eve. Early Halloween. Whatever you call it.</p><p>Impatient? Sure. Jumping the gun? Yeah. Appropriate? Who knows...</p><p>But for all those that live the lifestyle of delightfully creepy things...reading books, listening to music, watching horror films, roaming around stores that have their Halloween merchandise out early...September seems just right. The Eve to the best holiday for young and old!</p><p>For those that remember their younger years...going from house to house Trick Or Treating in their Halloween costumes, enjoying watching scary movies, playing festive games...that feeling never dies. Nor do we WANT it do die. Like a Zombie Santa Claus, spreading Halloween cheer, the feeling slowly crawls towards you year round until this September celebration it JUMPS at you! Like a classic jump scare.</p><p>So to those grumps that say September is TOO EARLY to celebrate spooky season, tell them to take that stick out of their pumpkin and just start carving the Jack O Lantern! We ghoulish ghoulies will celebrate!</p><p>AND WE'LL LOVE IT! KISS MY PUMPKIN! 👻</p><p><span style="font-family: times; font-size: x-small;">BY JESS SOLIS</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbPCrQBgAi_RdX64NMIgVETswFqsU3mjZL4m52SUCNSNIOwqc4dvP9Ic0RYqUN67Fgy6bj8cLuan81aRWzQna75_yVLdGumPUELDEQxVL8WPZ7N-Xu8QVlcwJLMYClsz6q9JnnrRiNCwsHjURMsLAMOcYa-NfKWVXQOSdUPsOuwrJow_0QbGmfPoxE/s768/sepcelebration.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="474" data-original-width="768" height="198" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbPCrQBgAi_RdX64NMIgVETswFqsU3mjZL4m52SUCNSNIOwqc4dvP9Ic0RYqUN67Fgy6bj8cLuan81aRWzQna75_yVLdGumPUELDEQxVL8WPZ7N-Xu8QVlcwJLMYClsz6q9JnnrRiNCwsHjURMsLAMOcYa-NfKWVXQOSdUPsOuwrJow_0QbGmfPoxE/s320/sepcelebration.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhM9Fa3Msws1JLybf5wrA8rZDeXR7NMOpqCnIel96pRo9VNz8Kbzvq2JBExa_k9oFvdejeLlYK4gIKPrLej9dU5RkZHKlSLvk7mmpw8YkV54BibTAFpQI6qjlRiWhFTFYyjQTK2KvN5GS0HS0n2U_vyoVaujhjpFGNqAuFdPHuZNaRdHtGVK4C55anG/s621/338052-The-Entire-Month-Of-September-Is-Halloween-Eve.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="621" data-original-width="496" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhM9Fa3Msws1JLybf5wrA8rZDeXR7NMOpqCnIel96pRo9VNz8Kbzvq2JBExa_k9oFvdejeLlYK4gIKPrLej9dU5RkZHKlSLvk7mmpw8YkV54BibTAFpQI6qjlRiWhFTFYyjQTK2KvN5GS0HS0n2U_vyoVaujhjpFGNqAuFdPHuZNaRdHtGVK4C55anG/s320/338052-The-Entire-Month-Of-September-Is-Halloween-Eve.jpg" width="256" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/fYreZDCngCE" width="320" youtube-src-id="fYreZDCngCE"></iframe></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/hRR_QbEok18" width="320" youtube-src-id="hRR_QbEok18"></iframe></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p><br /></p>GhoulishGrinFilms.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11775357473038739782noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1303936516414063319.post-19918823702690079432022-05-26T06:11:00.002-07:002022-06-22T11:21:45.293-07:00"Now That's A Name I've Not Heard In A LONG TIME..."<p> 1999 is a year I'm quite fond of. It was May and I was over the moon excited about the return of a franchise I had not seen in theaters since 1983. That film was "Star Wars Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi." We fans wanted more Star Wars. And we did receive it by way of Expanded Universe stories in comic books and novels. But that experience of seeing Star Wars in the theaters was an aching hole in my heart, I'll be honest. And I grew up.</p><p>Now, all of a sudden, roaming around Toys R Us, I was seeing BRAND NEW Star Wars action figures. Something I had only dreamed of (yes, I LITERALLY dreamed of new Star Wars action figures when I was a kid). And now it was a reality. Soon, I would be seeing "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace." </p><p>That prequel series would end with 2005's "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith." And thankfully the franchise has moved along with sequels and a new flood of comics, books, and games.</p><p>Then...Disney + came along and brought the fandom back together with the amazing "The Mandalorian." A new age of Star Wars began. And the possibilities were now endless. With that, fans wanted a project with Ewan McGregor. To reprise his role as Obi Wan Kenobi, filling the holes left from Episode III to Episode IV.</p><p>And on May 27th 2022, this now will come to pass.</p><p>Let us rejoice in the dreams coming true in the Star Wars universe. Real life can definitely bring sadness and pessimism among us. And we ultimately have to fight for good. And that's always what Star Wars represented. Good versus Evil. The ultimate galactic story of Good versus Evil. </p><p>This show will return us to a galaxy far, far away and transport us out of our daily lives to escapism. This film was called "Nosferatu: A Symphony Of Horror." </p><p>The premier took place on the 15th of March at Berlin's Primus-Palast. Thus entered into the world a masterpiece of atmospheric horror, still to this day.</p><p>2022 and the film still strikes a chill to the bones with images of shadows and gothic structures. An amazing feat of cinematic eeriness and the films age only adds to its creepy feel.</p><p>The fact that we still have this film is a gift and every horror fan should at least view it once. It is available for all under the public domain and is required for all fans of cinema.</p><p>Thanks to the masterful direction of F.W. Murnau and the spine-chilling performance of Max Schreck as Count Orlok, the film will live on and on. Truly the long life of a vampire!</p><p><span style="font-family: times; font-size: x-small;">BY JESS SOLIS</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEh1reSsTh26SN2zX4nxL2DkLIMR1HuEp_CC8V1hu8htSfgdv-o0EvgHpSq8ulpKSIYS_eDulylokSNJ7oREip71bb-8h6NfVKuE6sJYiR9DL2_dAsp2aPVBX7Jq6ONOx9BZY_VMYUYsKtPhmbPWasxuwvpKtffidKOGBsSJmmO8LJv3oRMIv6SsXgWa=s819" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="522" data-original-width="819" height="204" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEh1reSsTh26SN2zX4nxL2DkLIMR1HuEp_CC8V1hu8htSfgdv-o0EvgHpSq8ulpKSIYS_eDulylokSNJ7oREip71bb-8h6NfVKuE6sJYiR9DL2_dAsp2aPVBX7Jq6ONOx9BZY_VMYUYsKtPhmbPWasxuwvpKtffidKOGBsSJmmO8LJv3oRMIv6SsXgWa=s320" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhvGVAgcfL3LkfvAeXNACrlZ6B7pBKiJNyrr8CbWJR0uaxk3XzeSpx4RI4vtsIXiHJugJf2XMS1Cq0dHNJ0uT7IatlJjjcrJ8bsFP-hZnbUZ-osDZReWon7NWGxJ_tFR7YLtslB8MCWmCkoO9mz39pM75ZO0r_-PYvRHy5zmL6Yj2ZZEPdDKDJn0pmS=s687" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="687" data-original-width="526" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhvGVAgcfL3LkfvAeXNACrlZ6B7pBKiJNyrr8CbWJR0uaxk3XzeSpx4RI4vtsIXiHJugJf2XMS1Cq0dHNJ0uT7IatlJjjcrJ8bsFP-hZnbUZ-osDZReWon7NWGxJ_tFR7YLtslB8MCWmCkoO9mz39pM75ZO0r_-PYvRHy5zmL6Yj2ZZEPdDKDJn0pmS=s320" width="245" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/tMHaj797f4s" width="320" youtube-src-id="tMHaj797f4s"></iframe></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p><br /></p>GhoulishGrinFilms.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11775357473038739782noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1303936516414063319.post-49755370303513668972021-12-31T13:05:00.003-08:002021-12-31T13:05:24.951-08:00Leave 2021 Behind. Embrace The Possibilities. <p> 2021 didn't fulfill the promise of a new day. It seemed a continuation of the previous year, complete with divisiveness, pain, and limitations. Maybe we assumed too much. Maybe we were putting the cart before the horse. Who knows. </p><p>But we can't continue to think like that. There seems to be an endgame forming. A rough month or so to go but definitely light at the end of the tunnel. It was just that tunnel was a bit longer than expected.</p><p>2022 promises the same as last year. Let's keep that feeling alive. We can get through all of this and make our way back to feeling whole again as a community. Maybe that's expecting too much too soon, but we can hope and dream.</p><p>Let's make our way out of this tunnel. Let's bring in the 20's the way it was supposed to be brought out...roaring. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEh9PunSQqfYKDITmpdszowIFYLQ5vZM6m-BLzQ82N2Tp6wWFzGF-p_XclKl_3LIcd012Sq7QDkC5xSWK6BHQqDCxZcnjaPa0g0AvQmGr3nUUpGVfXfwplInE_TnnjxkBN_N5hicT8oicEV4fOJzy4GEUfy1o1Ouri0Ad_b_T4HXx_uE5x_SrJpvvTkg=s517" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="319" data-original-width="517" height="197" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEh9PunSQqfYKDITmpdszowIFYLQ5vZM6m-BLzQ82N2Tp6wWFzGF-p_XclKl_3LIcd012Sq7QDkC5xSWK6BHQqDCxZcnjaPa0g0AvQmGr3nUUpGVfXfwplInE_TnnjxkBN_N5hicT8oicEV4fOJzy4GEUfy1o1Ouri0Ad_b_T4HXx_uE5x_SrJpvvTkg=s320" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjBdJpnSliuIh-bGlDpKS0gKUfpCP1DJljBgRWivf8kPfadSNZfyUjLa5jOIEMxyl7trKwwumeRakaT_O3nU-r-ulFh7NbnhTbbVXVvJFwVmz6TL7yw6Fexe3x4b_S9c9fteGV7UZyMTLevMGeg8z6nJEsiLDXtXpjXdUFye0KelVsJny1SEhIy7uUD=s548" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="339" data-original-width="548" height="198" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjBdJpnSliuIh-bGlDpKS0gKUfpCP1DJljBgRWivf8kPfadSNZfyUjLa5jOIEMxyl7trKwwumeRakaT_O3nU-r-ulFh7NbnhTbbVXVvJFwVmz6TL7yw6Fexe3x4b_S9c9fteGV7UZyMTLevMGeg8z6nJEsiLDXtXpjXdUFye0KelVsJny1SEhIy7uUD=s320" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/jjIHpVy8zH4" width="320" youtube-src-id="jjIHpVy8zH4"></iframe></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p><br /></p>GhoulishGrinFilms.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11775357473038739782noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1303936516414063319.post-12342661857288634912021-10-21T10:03:00.002-07:002022-09-04T13:35:53.119-07:00Carrie On Forever (Happy Birthday Carrie Fisher)<p> She was an actress, screenwriter, novelist, advocate. To us Star Wars fans, she is forever the role she unfortunately couldn't shake. Princess Leia. Like any actor or actress that is typecast or shadowed by a signature role, it seemed like she was making peace with the legacy. Unfortunately she passed much too soon. </p><p>I skipped the first two Star Wars films in my youth (in my defense I was only 1 when the first one came out and 4 when the second one came out.). I was quickly brought into the fold thanks to my cousins brilliant retelling through roleplaying as kids and the great Kenner toys. Once "Star Wars Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi" came out I was an excited 7 year older ready to go.</p><p>This was my first introduction to Carrie Fisher. Disguised as a bounty hunter rescuing her galactic love, Han Solo. Kidnapped and turned 'Slave Leia,' which was impressive for a whole other reason. Then ultimately hero of The Republic with her Jedi brother Luke Skywalker. It was a film that forever changed my life for the better and she was a part of that.</p><p>This is how we see her now, for better or worse. I would like to think for the better. We see her in that light. We the fans are forever grateful for just her existence and will be royalty to us until our dying days. She is One with The Force now and I hope that somewhere in this vast universe she is experiencing bliss.</p><p>We love you Carrie Fisher. Happy birthday. </p><p><span style="font-family: times; font-size: x-small;">BY JESS SOLIS</span></p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEienaiMsdtE4bEtw8zTULSE_mXQg634uszgxXtrauXnVyAn-CShyphenhyphenZgWpKp7ub5cASIzJH7tOwGhf3q3_DH6H7XVFuk8Gqx0w-5caLK1MeI8qKUXwqqW15XhmMv8OObpr-DGXGZPEjhrBQM/s2048/Princess-Leia-Background.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1152" data-original-width="2048" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEienaiMsdtE4bEtw8zTULSE_mXQg634uszgxXtrauXnVyAn-CShyphenhyphenZgWpKp7ub5cASIzJH7tOwGhf3q3_DH6H7XVFuk8Gqx0w-5caLK1MeI8qKUXwqqW15XhmMv8OObpr-DGXGZPEjhrBQM/s320/Princess-Leia-Background.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/5BSQuxaRoBY" width="320" youtube-src-id="5BSQuxaRoBY"></iframe></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/_aJJuNB58eA" width="320" youtube-src-id="_aJJuNB58eA"></iframe></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/sE99le5FBrY" width="320" youtube-src-id="sE99le5FBrY"></iframe></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p><br /></p>GhoulishGrinFilms.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11775357473038739782noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1303936516414063319.post-19456511831376404322021-09-26T16:41:00.002-07:002021-10-09T11:52:27.625-07:00The FREE HORROR MOVIES Playlist Hits 1M Views!<p> <a href="https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLkzvgsq3ySHBduUI5DSAwpJylNKkGYjqg" target="_blank">The Free Horror Movies Playlist</a></p><p>The Ghoulish Grin Films YouTube channel just hit an amazing milestone. August 16th, 1899 in New Mexico. At a commanding 6 foot 5 he took over the role of the Frankenstein's Monster when the legendary Boris Karloff decided to retire playing the character after playing him for the last time in "Son Of Frankenstein," closing out the original Frankenstein Trilogy. </p><p>When legendary make-up artist Jack Pierce noticed Strange in "The Mad Monster," he was cast as the Frankenstein Monster in 1944's "House Of Frankenstein" with John Carradine replacing the great Bela Lugosi as Count Dracula. The only original member of the monster mash was Lon Chaney Jr., playing his iconic Wolf Man role. A follow-up, "House Of Dracula," featured the same trilogy of Universal Monsters and is a fun team-up for fans of the classic monsters.</p><p>But it was his appearance as the Frankenstein's Monster in the horror comedy "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein" that came the closest to a full on Universal Monster reunion, with Mr. Lugosi returning as Count Dracula. It will forever be a jewel in the crown of Universal Studios as this film brings fun and thrills to the Universal Monsters era. And Mr. Strange was a part of it.</p><p>Because of Mr. Karloff's riveting and groundbreaking performance as the Frankenstein Monster, it can be easy to overlook Mr. Strange's contributions to the classic age of Universal Monsters horror. But I hope his mark in horror is remembered by the fans. He is worthy.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBi-mu7X3AgbRa8KwJyHDCBlNojI_uh61GPjvdMjVEz5_bid73Cma13-uJSHrJ42TFXKXS3IlSchL7JQHT1ycAaFupakZXuN3P6eKetHhBNfsHrxhry554X8_vRn5s5xfjM0cOVcpJf00/s777/glenn.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="480" data-original-width="777" height="198" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBi-mu7X3AgbRa8KwJyHDCBlNojI_uh61GPjvdMjVEz5_bid73Cma13-uJSHrJ42TFXKXS3IlSchL7JQHT1ycAaFupakZXuN3P6eKetHhBNfsHrxhry554X8_vRn5s5xfjM0cOVcpJf00/s320/glenn.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Rtm1Uo7sh4E" width="320" youtube-src-id="Rtm1Uo7sh4E"></iframe></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/9Irk1DC6O2M" width="320" youtube-src-id="9Irk1DC6O2M"></iframe></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p><br /></p>GhoulishGrinFilms.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11775357473038739782noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1303936516414063319.post-9754181828978843572021-08-16T07:14:00.000-07:002021-08-16T07:14:12.258-07:00King Of The World (Happy Birthday James Cameron!)<p> In the Summer of 1991, I went to the movie theaters to see the Arnold Schwarzenegger blockbuster "Terminator 2: Judgement Day," nowadays known simply as T2. It was easily one of the best summer movie experiences of my life. Not just because I was seeing a highly anticipated Arnold film but the film itself delivered in spades. Not only was it one of Mr. Schwarzenegger's best, but it was one of the greatest science fiction films of all time, and arguably the best action/sci fi film. And the reason for this amazing execution of story and special effects was thanks to the great James Cameron.</p><p>Funny enough, T2 is in competition with "Aliens" as the finest action science fiction film...another follow-up directed by Cameron. His masterful execution of spectacle and story (with such fare as "The Abyss" and "True Lies") are among the greats of the blockbusters. Easily up there with the likes of Spielberg and Lucas.</p><p>I was a crazy fan of '80's/'90's action films, so it was kind of odd that in 1997 I was headed to the theater to see another Cameron film. This time to see the disaster epic "Titanic." I heard all sorts of bad press about its bloated budget and production woes. People were counting him out. Instead, this was the film that basically made him untouchable. If he asked for a certain amount of money to make a film, you gave it to him. He earned that. I had never seen a proper disaster film in the theaters (I had only seen a handful of the blockbuster disaster films of the '70's on television) and this one was as good, if not better, than any of them. </p><p>I remember having to pee like MAD after the 3 hour epic, then our family left the lovely movie palace to go eat at Hometown Buffet. A lovely evening with family, that was for sure.</p><p>Then in 2009 he did it again. "Avatar" the epic 3D science fiction juggernaut destroyed all at the box office and became the highest grossing film of all time. Surpassing such films as "Star Wars" and...yes..."Titanic." His place in film history was set in stone.</p><p>Who knows what the fate of movie theaters holds in the future, but I imagine the upcoming "Avatar" sequels will be a major attraction for future filmgoers. But he's already captured box office and Oscar gold. The films will live on.</p><p>Mr. Cameron was born on August 16th, 1954 in Kaspuskasing, Ontario. Happy birthday, and here's to more of what Mr. Cameron has to offer. His imagination is grand and we all appreciate what has come from it.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj227cwrGGM3-vDtMeytMvMBIopXUhZRqBEl1ELnOvAQTAcx3y_c_f9Py4VBSYAFy5cKps4RyrN-tauG5ekqP1gfdX2ygZqWtzpFIjNvAPCtyj4ZxpPtzVQ93txZnEtXXBjw6HKgnjEHtQ/s800/imageedit_2_9361638813.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="494" data-original-width="800" height="198" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj227cwrGGM3-vDtMeytMvMBIopXUhZRqBEl1ELnOvAQTAcx3y_c_f9Py4VBSYAFy5cKps4RyrN-tauG5ekqP1gfdX2ygZqWtzpFIjNvAPCtyj4ZxpPtzVQ93txZnEtXXBjw6HKgnjEHtQ/s320/imageedit_2_9361638813.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/QxZ5LROlwPc" width="320" youtube-src-id="QxZ5LROlwPc"></iframe></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ngMi-ktbW2U" width="320" youtube-src-id="ngMi-ktbW2U"></iframe></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/xJp7Wd6Af2A" width="320" youtube-src-id="xJp7Wd6Af2A"></iframe></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p><br /></p>GhoulishGrinFilms.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11775357473038739782noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1303936516414063319.post-73950888235293971792021-07-01T12:23:00.001-07:002021-07-01T12:23:15.365-07:00My Favorite Ghostbuster (Happy Birthday Dan Aykroyd!)<p> Back when I was a kid in the '80's, my family and neighbors invited me to see the first Ghostbusters film. For some reason I decided to stay home. I 100% regretted that decision because when The Ghostbusters franchise blew up and they had the cartoon show and toys I jumped on the Ecto-1 ride immediately. </p><p>I became obsessed with the cartoon, had the toys, enjoyed the Hi-C Ecto Cooler (I still love it!), and when the opportunity came to make up for my earlier mistake, caught the film on television. It's still to this day one of the greatest (if not THEE greatest) horror comedies of all time.</p><p>And I finally went with family to see the sequel. Most people dismiss the film and though I agree it's not as good as the classic original, I have massive nostalgia for it. And it kept my love for all thing Ghostbusters alive to this very day.</p><p>Among the four original Ghostbusters, I always gravitated towards Ray Stantz played by the brilliant SNL original member Dan Aykroyd. His amusing knowledge of the paranormal played well with another comedy legend, Harold Ramis, who played Egon Spengler. And even better with the king of sarcasm himself, another SNL icon Bill Murray, who played Peter Venkman. </p><p>Though he's starred in many a great comedy ("The Blues Brothers," "Trading Places," "Dragnet," "The Great Outdoors") and even a handful of dramatic fare ("Driving Miss Daisy," "My Girl," "Chaplin"), his portrayal of Ray Stantz in the Ghostbusters film will be what I will always associate him with. And I love that, because I love the franchise. Happy birthday Mr. Aykroyd!</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9WNHUYUgf0Pm5ulXE9mREKTzukT_Wz0dW4gZUyM9QOnX3jDD-35q1wru5SMfTolbkitdjGRM5aRFG1l08Tm2d-7wg5p-Xw141MQ7ciOzzea1FYiZbRXL3kpQ2NtF38LWK-P_r5VHqAs4/s912/ray.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="563" data-original-width="912" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9WNHUYUgf0Pm5ulXE9mREKTzukT_Wz0dW4gZUyM9QOnX3jDD-35q1wru5SMfTolbkitdjGRM5aRFG1l08Tm2d-7wg5p-Xw141MQ7ciOzzea1FYiZbRXL3kpQ2NtF38LWK-P_r5VHqAs4/s320/ray.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ay15GE6gNic" width="320" youtube-src-id="ay15GE6gNic"></iframe></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/0A5Riwr4jzY" width="320" youtube-src-id="0A5Riwr4jzY"></iframe></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Y79wNZYo52E" width="320" youtube-src-id="Y79wNZYo52E"></iframe></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p><br /></p>GhoulishGrinFilms.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11775357473038739782noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1303936516414063319.post-78120064202342056542021-05-27T03:02:00.003-07:002021-05-27T03:07:19.224-07:00A Thrilling Legacy - Happy Birthday Vincent Price<p> When I was very young in the '80's, my dad bought me my first Walkman. And my first physical piece of music...a cassette tape of the blockbuster album "Thriller" by Michael Jackson.</p><p>As my sister and I laid in the back seat of our parents car listening to our tapes, I came across the title track. It set up a very spooky vibe (at least for a kid my age!) and it concluded with a very eerie voice.</p><p><span style="background-color: #ddddee; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;">Darkness falls across the land</span><br style="background-color: #ddddee; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;" /><span style="background-color: #ddddee; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;">The midnight hour is close at hand</span><br style="background-color: #ddddee; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;" /><span style="background-color: #ddddee; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;">Creatures crawl in search of blood</span><br style="background-color: #ddddee; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;" /><span style="background-color: #ddddee; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;">To terrorize y'all's neighborhood</span><br style="background-color: #ddddee; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;" /><span style="background-color: #ddddee; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;">And whomsoever shall be found</span><br style="background-color: #ddddee; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;" /><span style="background-color: #ddddee; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;">Without the soul for getting down</span><br style="background-color: #ddddee; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;" /><span style="background-color: #ddddee; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;">Must stand and face the hounds of hell</span><br style="background-color: #ddddee; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;" /><span style="background-color: #ddddee; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;">And rot inside a corpse's shell</span></p><p>The lyrics were quite chilling. Then...it's epic closing!</p><p><span style="background-color: #ddddee; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;">The foulest stench is in the air</span><br style="background-color: #ddddee; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;" /><span style="background-color: #ddddee; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;">The funk of forty thousand years</span><br style="background-color: #ddddee; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;" /><span style="background-color: #ddddee; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;">And grisly ghouls from every tomb</span><br style="background-color: #ddddee; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;" /><span style="background-color: #ddddee; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;">Are closing in to seal your doom</span><br style="background-color: #ddddee; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;" /><span style="background-color: #ddddee; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;">And though you fight to stay alive</span><br style="background-color: #ddddee; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;" /><span style="background-color: #ddddee; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;">Your body starts to shiver</span><br style="background-color: #ddddee; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;" /><span style="background-color: #ddddee; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;">For no mere mortal can resist</span><br style="background-color: #ddddee; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;" /><span style="background-color: #ddddee; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;">The evil of the thriller</span><br style="background-color: #ddddee; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;" /><span style="text-align: center;"><br /></span></p><p style="text-align: left;"><span style="text-align: center;">Truly frightening! With that maniacal laugh at the end, how could a young kid not get 'the shivers?'</span></p><p><span style="text-align: center;">A few years later as I was visiting my grandparents house my Uncle Bobby had a viewing party of Elvira's hosting of "House Of Wax" starring Vincent Price. I would come to the realization that this man was also the voice in my Walkman.</span></p><p><span style="text-align: center;">After all these years, I still think of his entire career with such fond memories. I definitely have the most fun when watching his films on Halloween, or watching his holiday themed commercials, or his magnificent voice in radio dramas and audiobooks. I can site "House On Haunted Hill," "The Last Man On Earth," the Poe Trilogy...there's just too much to pin on. He is truly a legend of all things macabre. And on my favourite of holidays, for him to bring festive fun every time I see him is not just a testament to his talent, but a special place in all of our hearts says volumes of his enduring legacy.</span></p><p><span style="text-align: center;">He is no longer with us, but I can truly say his spirit lives on in the art. He's just as alive as ever when the month of October hits. And for us horror nuts, he's a presence all year round. We love you Mr. Price.</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkXfMuTzXT5OkQmLmJQRYQ_TvV0_hMO4x_cMADdbNuiQd5NWWtd6Lyy65XgipBBtXehJEgFDuNGLky1C_mXyyUv0Z_vYc0MAypZj5tYMvcB6bGv_u73U6vZiqTX7EKzGPm4LrtueoUlLE/s600/imageedit_2_4786315244.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="370" data-original-width="600" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkXfMuTzXT5OkQmLmJQRYQ_TvV0_hMO4x_cMADdbNuiQd5NWWtd6Lyy65XgipBBtXehJEgFDuNGLky1C_mXyyUv0Z_vYc0MAypZj5tYMvcB6bGv_u73U6vZiqTX7EKzGPm4LrtueoUlLE/s320/imageedit_2_4786315244.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/vZEM1lGT4mc" width="320" youtube-src-id="vZEM1lGT4mc"></iframe></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/-MGssnLkVGI" width="320" youtube-src-id="-MGssnLkVGI"></iframe></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/HyrtUmfcXAI" width="320" youtube-src-id="HyrtUmfcXAI"></iframe></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: courier;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: courier;">Authored by Jess Solis, Owner of GhoulishGrinFilms.com</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><span style="text-align: center;"><br /></span><p></p><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p>GhoulishGrinFilms.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11775357473038739782noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1303936516414063319.post-34592392104462639142021-05-25T11:43:00.001-07:002021-05-25T11:43:30.768-07:00The Great And Powerful Oz - Happy Birthday Frank Oz!<p> As I have stated numerous times, I am a massive Star Wars fan. Have been since I was a young boy. And growing up with Star Wars I was familiar with one of the great cinematic characters, Jedi Master Yoda. </p><p>And this character was brought to life by the magnificent Frank Oz. But even BEFORE that, I knew Frank Oz. From my toddler years watching Sesame Street.</p><p>When I first heard Yoda I thought he sounded a lot like a Sesame Street character I was familiar with, Grover! Turns out I wasn't too far off. At all. He's voiced iconic characters like Grover, The Cookie Monster, and would team up with the legendary Jim Henson as he would voice Ernie, Mr. Oz would voice Bert. As Mr. Henson would voice Kermit The Frog, Mr. Oz would hilariously voice Miss Piggy.</p><p>He would form brilliant collaborations with Mr. Henson with projects from Sesame Street and The Muppets franchise and with the great George Lucas with the Star Wars sequels. His partnership with Jim Henson also included the '80's fantasy masterpiece "Labyrinth." </p><p>He was also responsible for directing cult classics like "The Dark Crystal" and "The Little Shop Of Horrors" remake. So many incredible films from this very, very talented man.</p><p>He's more than a puppeteer. More than a voice over artist, though he excels at both. He is, to me at least, a living legend. Happy birthday to the unmatched talent that is Frank Oz.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvlOWOUViSFmoG0D5XOOECxFX767GGl7ejF0ur85pvjAMjqGqptT1ywbh4g1fG4C2aRdrsR4702VL_4GbDE_2gs_5-w8Ii-kp2OZvOOls66WXOr0n9wSPvEqIhx5WG9MpMXSNBwhwXBhE/s730/oz.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="451" data-original-width="730" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvlOWOUViSFmoG0D5XOOECxFX767GGl7ejF0ur85pvjAMjqGqptT1ywbh4g1fG4C2aRdrsR4702VL_4GbDE_2gs_5-w8Ii-kp2OZvOOls66WXOr0n9wSPvEqIhx5WG9MpMXSNBwhwXBhE/s320/oz.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/XZbVLvT7qBU" width="320" youtube-src-id="XZbVLvT7qBU"></iframe></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Q6NQcO9KTBY" width="320" youtube-src-id="Q6NQcO9KTBY"></iframe></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p><br /></p>GhoulishGrinFilms.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11775357473038739782noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1303936516414063319.post-12432064025502585672021-05-08T15:30:00.000-07:002021-05-08T15:30:08.765-07:00Lon Chaney Double Feature Streaming At Amazon!<p> <a href="http://www.amazon.com/v/ghoulishgrinfilms">http://www.amazon.com/v/ghoulishgrinfilms</a></p><p>The silent horror classics from the legendary Lon Chaney Sr., "The Unholy Three: Ghoulish Edition" and "He Who Gets Slapped: Ghoulish Edition," are now streaming on Amazon Instant Video!</p><p>Enjoy these two films with either an Amazon Video rental or purchase and witness an actor who is arguably the finest actor of the silent era. </p><p>Thank you as always for supporting Ghoulish Grin Films on all media platforms! Tom Cruise Is Darkseid AND Green Lantern In The SnyderVerse! <p>Easter has come early for Tom Cruise fans! According to WeGotThisSmotheredNews, the legendary Hollywood icon will be doing double duty as DC baddy Darkseid AND as the long rumored Green Lantern Hal Jordan in the now newly rebooted SnyderVerse!</p><p>With the undeniable success of HBO Max's "Zack Snyder's Justice League," the momentum has swiftly gone towards continuing the adventures of Henry Cavill's Superman, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa's Aquaman, and yes...Batfleck. And what better way to add that star power and take it over the top than to add Mr. Cruise! </p><p>Having lost the Mother Boxes and the battle to The Justice League, Darkseid will ultimately plan his return along with the dreaded Legion Of Doom! At his side will be Joe Manganiello as Slade Wilson, A.K.A. Deathstroke, Jared Leto as The Joker, Danny DeVito as Solomon Grundy, and with another bit of updated casting...Mark Zuckerberg as Lex Luthor!</p><p>And joining Tom Cruise as the Lantern Corp will be Chris Pine as Lantern Steve Trevor, Ryan Reynolds as Lantern Hal Jordan Earth 23, and Armie Hammer (yes, you heard me right!) as Lantern Guy Gardner!</p><p>Mr. Cruise has acted in a fatsuit and was literally UNRECOGNIZABLE so doing double duty as a CGI Darkseid and as Hal Jordan will be a walk in the park. You will see true acting superiority at work, and who wins? We, the fans.</p><p>It is said that Zack Snyder is done with the DC Universe and the names of his potential replacements are Renny Harlin, Walt Becker, and yes...Uwe Boll.</p><p>Stay tuned for more juicy tidbits! </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaYIX-46T8DOJExOFLayWdFq1a5TsxE0roS9BUF78uFgX0MeXBJjRE-W-fN5kR-MPzQXTbJg38dDQVPRa1QXnl1tOmLtE1ZJ-WB0jvHkxLZ4COTkYBHSwTg-SnsKX4bMPKMsiT_GOy-gw/s869/fools.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="536" data-original-width="869" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaYIX-46T8DOJExOFLayWdFq1a5TsxE0roS9BUF78uFgX0MeXBJjRE-W-fN5kR-MPzQXTbJg38dDQVPRa1QXnl1tOmLtE1ZJ-WB0jvHkxLZ4COTkYBHSwTg-SnsKX4bMPKMsiT_GOy-gw/s320/fools.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/egmMcU0Fr00" width="320" youtube-src-id="egmMcU0Fr00"></iframe></div><br />GhoulishGrinFilms.comhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11775357473038739782noreply@blogger.com0
