The 2018 San Diego Comic-Con International has arrived, and before you're bombarded by superheroes, super powers, and galaxies far, far away, the theme for the opening is HORROR!
And a lot of fantastic new projects are on the way.
If you were questioning James Wan's place in horror, you will find his place is more than secure with the majority of the high profile projects coming from Atomic Monster Productions.
Announced was the third installment of the "Annabelle" franchise. Though I am not the biggest fan of the franchise, I'm still glad the James Wan Universe is making profits and continuing the momentum. Also profiled is the upcoming "The Nun," which I'm super excited to see, and a new project based on the old Mexican folk tale La Llorona. I'm very interested in seeing footage of that film.
Shown as a preview for the upcoming "Godzilla: King Of The Monsters" was a teaser with "Stranger Things" actress Millie Bobby Brown. This film will be a precursor to the much awaited "Godzilla vs King Kong." Can't. Wait.
And one of the main projects that everyone is talking about is "It: Chapter II." Coming out in 2019, this is the follow-up to the massive hit film based on the classic Stephen King novel. I posted earlier on this site that the hype is indeed real, with spot on casting and great momentum from the previous installment. All eyes on "It." Warner Bros. is just killing it.
I hope everyone enjoys all of the previews from this world famous event and have a great Comic-Con week!

He Casts A Long Shadow (Or DOES He?) [Happy Birthday Bela Lugosi!
Born on October 20th 1882, Hungarian actor Bela Lugosi started his career like many of his era with stage roles, eventually landing the role that would cement his place in history. In 1927 he was approached to play the immortal Bram Stoker vampire Dracula, and played him to great success. Despite that, he was on the bottom of the list of Carl Laemmle's potential choices to play The Count. However, destiny was fulfilled and the rest is history. There are many a great actor who have played Count Dracula. But Lugosi's image as Count Dracula has been imbedded into the culture and his place in horror history is as secure as an earthquake proof building. Sadly he was never able to get out of that casting (though he played some very interesting parts afterwards, including Ygor in "Son Of Frankenstein, Boris Karloff's final performance as the Frankenstein monster) and fell victim to bad habits before passing away on August 16th 1956 at 73. Like many typecast actors of the day
